    Application

Monitoring of differential pressures at filter units, traps etc. in the fields of gas, water & air supply.

    Design and function
    • Pressures p1 and p2 are present in (+) and (-) measuring material chambers, separated by a pressure-actuated magnetic piston.
    • Pressure difference causes axial movement (measurement path) for the piston, which presses against the measurement range spring.
    • A ring magnet fitted to the instrument display follows the magnet integrated into the piston so that every position of the piston is directly represented by the position of the pointer.
    • This constructional design enables a complete mechanical separation of measurement system and display and therefore preventing all forms of possible leakage.
    • Volume flow from (+) to (-) measuring material chamber is minimal due to the constructive design and plays no significant role in measurement.
    • It is recommended to install a fine filter in the (+) measuring material chamber for particle-contaminated measuring material.
    Schematic Diagram

    See illustration

    Installation

At the sides are 2 connections G 1⁄4“ (female thread) with the labelling (+) and (-). The plus connection (+) is connected with the measurement lead for the higher pressure and minus (-) with the measurement lead for the lower pressure.

    Mounting

Held in position by rigid pipework or via special mounting element for walls, i.e. gantries (filter/trap).

    Product additions

    1. With reed contact
Connection diagram reed contacts: Switching point using adjustment spindle adjustable from outside in the range from 10% to 100% of the scale end value.

    Max. switching voltage: 30 VDC/VAC
    Max. switching power: 5 W
    Max. current strength: 0,5 A
Switch-back voltage: 5% (from scale end value)
    1st contact: pre-warning (at approx. 75%)
2nd contact: switch over (at ca. 100%)
Weight: basic unit with reed contact 405 g

    2. With separating diaphragm
Used where there is coarse contamination or for liquids such as water etc., where a piston leakage is undesirable.

    3. Mounting element
    Consisting of
    1 fixing plate
    2 hexagonal bolts M8 x 50 or 100
    2 spacer sleeves 30 or 80 mm
    2 cheese-head screws M4 x 10 mm

    4. Fine filter
Fine filter in (+) connection addable (or integrated) (sinter filter)

    5. Valve refister / manifold
Installation / manifold / valve refister:

Differential pressure gauge type TC -700 can be delivered as a unit with a valve register (manifold). The valve register cannot be retro- fitted to the standard version. The valve register offers the following mounting advantages:

    1. Performing the minus connection is made at the rear side of the valve register. The plus connection can be made either at the left or at the right. This avoids crossing of the measurement leads and the positioning of special versions of the basic unit.
    2. Pressure compatibility between (+) and (-) via knurled screw (1) in the middle of the valve register (e.g. run-up, for checking the 0 display during operation).
    3. Using both of the screws (2) O-ring sealed valves can be closed. Differential pressure gauge type TC-700 can then be removed problem-free from the valve register (e.g. for checking, exchanging, etc.)
    4. The valve register (manifold) contains both valves i.e. block ball-valves, which are otherwise necessary for mounting.
    5. Additionally, a filter cartridge can be screwed into the valve register (manifold) to protect the measurement mechanism.
    6. Maximum operating pressure for the valve register (manifold): 102 bar
